Please note, by booking a course or class with us you are agreeing to our terms and conditions.
We reserve the right to change these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes are in immediate effective from being posted on our website. It is your responsibility to check our terms and conditions whenever you use the website or online booking system. Your continued use of the website will signify your acceptance of our latest terms and conditions.
RELEASE AND WAIVER OF RESPONSIBILITY when booking a class or workshop with the silver clay academy you agree to our terms and conditions including Agreement Not to Sue, Indemnification, and Hold Harmless Agreement .
Jewellery making and metalsmithing, ARE INHERENTLY DANGEROUS ACTIVITIES and, as such, Silver Clay Academy, Silver Clay Studios LTD , Jewellery by Emma Roy, Emma Roy collectively referred to as Silver Clay Studios throughout requires all persons attending Silver Clay Studios class, workshop, seminar, independent study or independent studio time for , Jewellery making and metalsmithing, OR using any Silver Clay Studio’s Equipment or facilities for Jewellery making and metalsmithing, to sign this release and waiver of responsibility. declare on behalf of myself, understand that Jewellery making and metalsmithing, are inherently dangerous activities and acknowledge that the following inherent risks are associated with such activities, including without limitation:
(1) The use of and exposure to superheated gases, torches, and kilns
(2) Handling hot metals and solder
(3) Exposure to sharp objects
(4) Exposure to power tools
(5) Latent risks associated with exposure to potentially dangerous chemicals and other hazardous materials.
By booking I understand that my negligence or failure to act within my abilities may contribute to or result in an injury and that Silver Clay Studio’s its instructors, founders and monitors will not provide me with any medical treatment or pay for any medical or other treatment expenses should I become sick or injured. Silver Clay Studio’s and its instructors, staff, and monitors hereby specifically disclaims any and all responsibility or liability for, and I, on behalf of myself and my heirs, next of kin, spouse, guardians, legal representative, executors, administrators, successors, and assigns hereby knowingly and intelligently release Silver Clay Studio’s and its instructors, staff, and monitors from any and all claims, whether known or unknown, which I may have relating to:
(i) Any and all damages to the student or any personal property of the student, including without limitation, indirect and consequential damages or injuries as a direct or indirect result of the inherent risks of Jewellery making and metalsmithing. (ii) Any liability relating to instruction, construction, design, or use of any Silver Clay Studio’s equipment or facilities, manufacture of any product, or any other activity undertaken in conjunction with classes, workshops, seminars, and open studio time offered by Silver Clay Studio’s or as a result of the use or application of information given or contained in any class, workshop, seminar, independent study, and open studio time offered by Silver Clay Studios or contained in any writing given to me by Silver Clay Studios.
(iii) Any actions taken by me while on the Silver Clay Studios premises with respect to construction, design, use of equipment or facilities or manufacture of any product.
I take full responsibility for my health and behavior
(a) The proper protection and use of masks, gloves, proper implements, and techniques.
(b) Wearing closed-toed shoes.
(c) Proper attire, apron, no hanging sleeves or shirt tails.
(d) Hair pulled back
(e) Know where the fire extinguisher or exits are located.
(f) No alcohol or intoxication in the Studio.
By booking a course or workshop with the Silver Clay Academy, I hereby represent and warrant under no duress and on my own free will that I understand that I will be responsible for all actions taken at Silver Clay Studios facilities, including, without limitation, use of equipment and facilities. I understand that I am solely responsible for any and all damages, whether direct or consequential, for the use and application of information given at any class, workshop, seminar, independent study or practice hours, or contained in any writing distributed by the Silver Clay Studios staff, instructors or representatives.

Cancellation Policy
Places on our courses and classes are limited.
Please check the dates and class or course content BEFORE booking to ensure it is suitable.
We regret that we cannot offer refunds or transfers to another date on any of our courses if you are unable to attend the date you have booked for any reason with the exception of the following:-

If Silver Clay Academy have to move the class dates and you cannot commit to the new dates.

If the government prohibits travel away from your home in your local area.

If the government imposes restrictions which prevent people traveling to our location.

Proof of your reason for cancelling will be required to generate a refund and an admin fee of £25 will be deducted from the refund amount.

If you cannot attend the course, you may request to transfer your place to someone else you know. Please let us know the attendees name has changed and their email address, as soon as possible so we can send them the joining instructions.

If you are booked on a class or course and you do not turn up on the day for any reason without contacting the Academy before it runs, no refund will be given.

Our class descriptions on the website explain the content of the class, access arrangements, the level of previous experience required and any additional costs or purchases you may incur in attending the class.
It is your responsibility to ensure you book on a relevant class and fully understand what is involved, including additional costs you will have to pay and our terms and conditions before you book.
By booking and paying for a class, you confirm your agreement to these terms and conditions.

Health and Safety Rules
If you turn up and we consider you to be incapable of working safely due to alcohol, drugs or general ill-health or fatigue, you will be excluded from the class with no refund. We reserve the right to exclude any student we feel may be a danger to themselves or other students.

All our classes are professionally run and most involve hot work – butane or propane torches – chemicals and/or acids, spinning equipment and heavy tools. Students must come dressed appropriately for this environment. Closed in shoes, NO SANDALS, FLIP FLOPS ETC are allowed in the studio. Floaty, flammable fabrics should not be worn, dangling sleeves, scarves etc. are also a hazard. Aprons will be provided on the day to protect your clothes but it is prudent to wear clothes you are not worried about getting dirty.
Some activities require you to wear protective goggles and/or masks. All health and safety rules must be observed at all times. If you arrive at the studio wearing inappropriate clothes or open shoes/sandals you will not be allowed to participate in activities involving hot work, chemicals or heavy tools. This is for your safety so please ensure you have a professional approach when you attend our classes.

We strongly suggest you take out travel insurance and check if this covers the class costs should you have to cancel.

If we have to cancel a class or course
On a rare event we may have to cancel a course. You will always be offered the choice of an alternative date or a refund. We will give you as much notice as possible, however, we cannot be held responsible for your travel or accommodation costs. Please insure that if you need travel and accommodation to attend a course or workshop at the studio that you take out insurance and flexible booking in the unlikely event that the class needs to be cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances.
When you book a place, you are agreeing to the above terms and conditions.

Coupon Usage
Coupons offering a discount are only valid for the specific classes, courses or products specified. They have a limited life and once they have expired, they can no longer be used. Once a class, course or product is sold out, the coupon can no longer be used for that item. Full payment is required at the point of booking. Once a discounted class or course has been booked and paid for, it is subject to our standard cancellation policy. In the event that a class or course is cancelled by Silver Clay Academy a refund will be given for the amount paid, not the full value of the class.

Gift Vouchers
Voucher redemption.
To redeem your gift card please email me at info@silverclayacademy.co.uk
quoting the name of the person that brought the gift card, your name and the unique reference number, along with the date/ workshop that you would like to attend and I will book you on. ( please note dates subject to availability)
Services must be pre-booked. Vouchers can be redeemed by phone, by email, or in person only. There is no option for online or email redemption. Redemption contact details are provided on the voucher.
Refunds. Vouchers are non-refundable other than within the 14 day cancellation period as per the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. No change or credit given in the event that the voucher value exceeds the total cost of the course – for example where a £100 voucher is used to purchase a £95 course. Vouchers are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash in part or full.
Monetary vouchers. Monetary vouchers can be used for part or full payment of an online or short course only. If the course cost exceeds the amount of the gift voucher, the balance must be paid in full by credit or debit card at the point of booking. No credit or change will be given on the unused portion of the Voucher
Course availability. Bookings Subject to availability. Silver Clay Academy does not guarantee that spaces will be available on courses. Spaces are only secured once a course has been booked, so it is recommended that you book as early as possible to avoid disappointment.
Transfer. Vouchers are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
Lost or stolen vouchers. Lost, stolen or destroyed gift vouchers will not be exchanged or refunded.
Cancellation. In the unlikely event that a course needs to be cancelled by Silver Clay Academy, a new gift voucher shall be issued and shall be valid for a further 12 months. In the event that a course is cancelled by a voucher holder no refund shall be given.
The terms and conditions of this gift card shall be amended at any time at the discretion of Silver Clay Academy and shall be binding on the customer.
