Find out more about the 6 Weeks of Silver Clay:
                                         Beginner Level.

Held at the stunning new Silver Clay Studio, in the beautiful village of Hermitage. The six weeks of silver clay has been designed to build upon your silver clay skills, no previous experience is necessary for this course.  

Each week will focus on different techniques and projects: 

 

Week 1 

The first week will be an introduction to the magical material of silver clay. This week you will learn how all about silver clay, and how to create your very own beautiful dainty charms that can be textured or personalised,and how to make an adorable little dangly charm bracelet. 

  

Week 2 

The second week is all about pretty pendants! Learn how to make your own pendants and how to use pre made adorn them with sparkly fireable cubic zirconia stones.

 

Week 3 

In week three we will be learning how to make your very own moulds, to making 3d silver charms with moulds. This is a perfect way to turn natural objects such as acorns and shells in to pure silver. 

 

Week 4

The focus in week four will be on making beautiful earrings. You will learn how to make both dangly earrings and how to make stud earrings by soldering on earring posts to make your own studs. 

  

Week 5

In week 5 you will discover silver clay in syringe form! Using the syringe to pipe the silver to adorn your very own beautiful 2D Silver clay syringe designs! 

Week 6

The final week you will learn about how you can add a splash of colour to your silver pieces.

 

The 6 week beginner course will run one evening a week on Mondays from 5.30-9.30m, and one day midweek Tuesdays 10-2 pm,  

 

 

The beginners Course will include all basic materials needed for the full 6 week projects for £375.  

Progression

If you already have some experience working with silver clay, or if you loved taking the 6 weeks of silver clay beginner course and you would like to learn more advanced techniques, I have just the course for you! The next level up is the Intermediate 6 weeks of silver clay, that leads nicely on to a professional silver clay qualification- the Art Clay Diploma, Level 1. Find out more here:

                          Intermediate Level

Held at the stunning new Silver Clay Studio, in the beautiful village of Hermitage.

The six weeks of silver clay has been designed to build upon your silver clay skills, and prepare you to take your silver clay journey to the next level with an Art Clay Diploma if you wish.

 

Previous experience is advised for the intermediate course but not essential. The 6-week intermediate course will run on a Tuesday 10am-2.30 pm, The Course includes all basic materials needed for the full 6 week projects. And is £589

 

Each week will focus on different techniques and projects: 

 

Week 1 

The first week will be an introduction to the magical material of silver clay and the things we will be coving over the course of the 6 weeks. This week you will learn how all about silver clay, and  learn how to create your own beautiful textured bail pendant, adorned with a bezel cup setting for a natural stone to be set after firing.

  

Week 2 

The second week we will be focusing on using silver paste to magically turn real leaves into pure silver. We will also be making our wood clay structures ready for the week after. 

 

Week 3

In week three we will be learning how to use silver clay in syringe form to make a beautiful 3d filagree pendant using the wood clay structures made the week before. 

 

Week 4

The focus in week four will be on making beautiful flat band rings. You will learn how to account for shrinkage when making rings and how to add gorgeous textures. 

  

Week 5

In week 5 you will discover how to make stunning broaches with a mirror shine finish, using embeddable broach backs. 

 

Week 6

The final week will be another ring, this time you will be making stunning statement rings with a rope band, adorned with 3d details and a half drilled semi-precious bead. 

 
 

Progression

If you loved taking the intermediate 6 weeks of silver clay intermediate course and you would like to take a professional silver clay qualification, you may decide you are now ready to take your Art Clay Diploma level 1.  

Or if you would like more, coming early next year I have just the course in the pipeline for you! The next level Advanced level of silver clay, that leads nicely on to a professional silver clay qualification- the Art Clay Diploma, Level 2. 

                                         Advanced Level

Held at the stunning new Silver Clay Studio, in the beautiful village of Hermitage.

The six weeks of silver clay has been designed to build upon your silver clay skills, and prepare you to take your silver clay journey to the next level with an Art Clay Diploma if you wish.

 

Previous experience is advised for the intermediate course but not essential. The 6-week intermediate course will run on a Thursdays 10am-3.00 pm, The Course includes all basic materials needed for the full 6 week projects. And is £697 pp 

 

Each week will focus on different techniques and projects: 

 

Week 1 

 This week you will learn how to create your own beautiful Balance ring adorned with hand carving in the dry stage. 

  

Week 2 

The second week we will be focusing on making lentil bead pendants with gorgeous glass cabochons fired in place.

 

Week 3

In week three we will be learning how to make your own bezels with wire to set natural stones or sea glass to be set after firring.

 

Week 4

The focus in week four will be on adding 24k gold accents to your silver using Keum-Boo (also called Kumbo, Kum-Boo, Kum-Bu or Keum-Bu), this ancient Korean technique fuses gold foil to your silver using heat and pressure, it gives a beautiful result.

  

Week 5

In week 5 you will discover how to use Art Clay Copper and how to rivet silver to the copper in a cold connection to make beautiful two tone pieces.

 

Week 6

The final week will be how to get perfect prongs to set natural stones after firing.

 
 

Progression

If you loved taking the Advanced 6 weeks of silver clay course and you would like to take a professional silver clay qualification, you may decide you are now ready to take your Art Clay Diploma level 1 or you may already have your Level 1, this course is perfect for getting you prepared for your level 2 Art Clay Diploma.
